Have you also been told that to grow as a content creator you need to grow on social media and one of the best places for creators is Twitter?
I will like to share organic methods to grow your Twitter to 10K organic followers without using the follow for follow strategies, BOTs, Follow trains, and scummy unfollow strategies.
Twitter is arguably one of my biggest strengths for creators and I feel like it's really an easy platform to understand because once you do, you're able to turn out tweets that get a lot of retweets comments and likes and then end up growing your Twitter to 10k pretty quickly.
Should in case you are expecting me to provide you a magical spell which you can use to grow your audience and engagement on Twitter please check back later, this is strictly for those who want to grow organically.
I will highlight metrics on how you can generate a lot of engagement on your tweets.
Engagement Metrics
1. Getting More Likes
The first engagement metric I will be about getting more likes and I feel likes are definitely the easiest to get because if you think about it, it takes a bit more effort and a bit more endorsement for someone to either retweet your tweet or to comment on it and join a conversation on a tweet that you posted.
But likes are something that you can easily get if it's posting about your life or if it's really anything any kind of content on Twitter it's more lively than life.
Any kind of content is likely going to generate a decent amount of likes as long as you've got some kind of community of people on Twitter.
Kindly note, if you engage with someone else on their tweets it actually means that the algorithm is more likely to send your tweets out to them as well which is where you can actually build up likes by just engaging with people and joining a conversation on their tweets, so you might not really need to post tweets to generate likes, that's going to happen organically on its own.
2. Getting More Engaging Comments
Are you wondering how you can generate conversation in the form of comments and to generate retweets with your posts?
Comments specifically are a very easy feat to achieve. To get comments, all you have to do is ASK a question in your tweet.
The fact is some of my most popular tweets have been ones where I asked questions or asked for people’s opinion about something.
The reason these metrics work is because it generates conversation.
Now you obviously want to target these questions towards a specific community so if you're in the entertainment community should be asking questions about specific movies, music or even celebrities.
It is a really easy way to generate more conversation, to get to know more people and to get more people commenting and interacting with your content on Twitter but you should also be commenting and interacting with people on their tweets and the questions they're posting.
3. Retweets
You usually receive retweets because your tweet resonated with individuals so much that they want to share it with their community. But I think that's a big misconception about retweets.
The speculations about retweets that has been making rounds are that your tweets get retweeted only if it's something that resonates really well with another user but we need to start thinking that every person that has a Twitter page also has some kind of audience, regardless of the numbers be it, five people or 500,000 people.
I am not disputing the fact aforementioned about tweets that resonates but time is changing, the majority of individuals now on Twitter, are looking at contents and things to share that would be interesting to their audience as well.
Therefore, whenever you are trying to generate more retweets on your tweets you're doing it by speaking to the audience of the people who are retweeting your content.
Yes, this is like a really strange concept to try and understand so I'm going to keep this as simple as possible if you want to generate more retweets on your tweets speak on behalf of a large group of people towards another group of people.
Another thing is, Tweets also see a lot of sharing and retweeting whenever it provides a fresh perspective or some kind of value for the community that you're sharing it to.
Such tweets could be any of the four standard pieces of value which includes
1. Education
2. Inspiration / motivation
3. Entertainment
4. Relational
These tips mentioned above are really awesome tips to try and get more likes and comments and retweets and get more conversation going around your Twitter.
Mastering Twitter or mastering any social media really it's like finally understanding all the concepts of your new favorite game or your new neighborhood.
In the beginning, you're really confused you're not sure where to go and you don't know what to do maybe make some bad plays or get lost in the hood, but then you figure it out and you start tearing it up.
The thing is, just with any type of content creation Twitter takes a lot of time. It actually took me years to get to the point to where I was getting the conversation flowing and my Twitter and getting retweets and getting people to actually talk to me and want to follow me and be my friend and that's okay it just takes time just like with anything else and that's totally normal.
I know in the beginning it will be frustrating because you will feel like you're screaming into the void and nobody is listening to you but you keep at it keep interacting with other people on their Twitter and eventually it will come your way as well once you understand these concepts a little bit more.
So these are my tips to you on how you can grow your Twitter to 10k, to get retweets to get people to care about the things that you say, you need to figure out how to create a tweet so that it looks nice because that's a big part of social media too and don't use unnecessary hashtags.
I think that using hashtags are really ugly on Twitter most especially when it is used for spammy purposes.
Though I only shared how to get more likes and retweets and comments in subsequent posts, I will share more in-depth advice about social media.
There's a lot more to grow on Twitter, talking about the algorithm and what things work and what things don't
