In recent years, there has been a significant change, the digital marketing world which engulfs SEO, SEM, Content Marketing, Social Media, etc.

The fact remains that we are currently in a constantly and continuously changing digital era, where organisations, keep on competing for relevant attention online.

However, considering your advertising landscape and rethinking your marketing strategy periodically is very important, because what might have worked for you in the past might not work anymore.

1. Video/ Visual  Marketing
Fresh chances to reach and engage with a specific audience are springing up regularly if not daily and believe me, video marketing is extremely rapid in terms of growth, compared to others.

Research already made it known that 84% of businesses would eventually result in using videos in their marketing campaigns. compared to 59% in 2017, as it as dramatically increased the ROI.

I am not surprised to see several skit kings emerging by the day in Nigeria. Everyone wants to be a comedian, influential and wealthy.

Sincerely speaking, I think Video Marketing is the new Crude Oil for Nigerian and African Youths.

Do you know that since video has made its way into the marketing scene, it has not given any signal of reducing it's pace, especially streaming live, which is on the rise currently.

However, the craving for live video content is being designed by the growth of several social media platforms, like Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, etc.

The fact remains that there are lot of evidence that postulates that live videos have high retention level than pre-recorded ones.

However, I must confess I am not really a fan of live videos yet because it requires lots of work, consciousness. But if you can do it please go for it.


2. Artificial Intelligence (AI)

Who else observes that artificial intelligence (AI)  has been a trending topic on everyone's lips for quite some time now but the fact remains that the hype isn’t subsiding anytime soon, due to how seriously most organisations see it.

Obviously, AI offers mankind that which humans cannot offer. For example, the most widely implemented forms of AI currently are chatbots which have really proven its worth, being effectively used on Facebook and WhatsApp.

With simulated human interactions serving as aids, individuals /customers will find a solution regardless of where they are, when they need the solution or what type of device they’re currently using.

Believe it or not, artificial intelligence is here and it’s starting golden opportunities for entrepreneurs regardless of their industries. It is now your responsibility to tap into the goldmine.

This right here is at it's core. It majors mainly on optimising and maximizing your work output.

For effective maximisation of man's 24 hours daily and to decrease repetitive tasks and channel more effort towards creativity.

However, voice search queries are relatively longer than their text counterparts and you need to consider how this will affect search results.

One's choice of words plays the major determinant in the purpose of a query, either for research purposes or for purchase objective.

 While you might type “best shawarma in Yaba ” in your search, you would likely say, “Hey Google, where’s the best shawarma food store in Akoka, Yaba?” in your voice search. Now as a Digital Marketer, how do you intend to make your content fit the evolving standards driving search engines rankings in this time?

However, voice search is increasing drastically. Research has it that 2020, 50% of searches will be done via voice search.

Truth be told, entrepreneurs who think this can be avoided should be tagged as a total joke, because you can't escape it when it's about SEO and local listings.
